Designer Comments

We knew we needed a cover with some hand-lettered typography that was fun and age-appropriate yet powerful and bold. We wanted to feature some of the courageous women highlighted inside the book and chose a combination of them that worked well on the cover. Then we set out to sketch some styles of hand-lettering that we felt were a great fit with the style of those illustrations. The final components are the illustration elements we came up with to work alongside our lettering and lend even more interest and fun to the cover.
