This book dives into a very tough and sensitive topic for pastors. I explored a few different concepts for this cover before landing on the landscape imagery and the road to a hopeful horizon. I played with the light and dark elements to balance the seriousness of the topic with a sense of hope. The road symbolize a path that a pastor walks alongside someone battling depression or a family who has lost someone to suicide. The sun on the horizon symbolize the hope that midst of darkness. The hills and trees speak to the layers and complexity of the topic. It was a privilege to work on such a helpful and important resource.
