This cover design was an unusual assignment. Bianca Pierre-Jacques, a senior graphic design student at Abilene Christian University, had met with the author and designed the beautiful, central art element on this cover. My task was to build around her work and shape a cover design that would appeal to both parents and tweens. The art was well executed and visually loose enough so that it was easy to work with the type elements that had to surround it.
