Designer Comments

Within a 6-month period of time, the designer lost all communication with her mom due to dementia. That happened just before this book contract was signed. The cover concept was inspired while considering the parallel between the passing of time and the loss of substance. Illustrator Taaron Parsons perfectly captured what we envisioned: cups of coffee that become more murky and diluted as they are emptied.
