This cover features a small die-cut (the ring on the finger) and a short-cut front in order to tease the reader to flip the cover open to the first page, which shows--in brief--the four titular habits. These were some new production features we as a house hadn't made use of before and they were the vision of an out-of-house design vendor. It was wonderful to see the whole team (including the finance department) green light them.

Judge Comments

Initially, I found this design to be very pleasing—the illustration made perfect sense to me. But, it was the clever die cut of the wedding band on the hand that spoke to a deeper level of the joy/fullness or conversely, the pain/emptiness that marital relationships can represent. – DT
