Waiting Here For You helps us anticipate, rather than dread, the busy season of Advent and Christmas. A season overflowing with anticipation, Christmas comes the same time each year with great hope and promise of a baby born long ago. But, this season meant for joy is often consumed by busyness, pressure, mixed emotions, and is gone as quickly as it came. We wanted a design that visually reflects the sentiment of this advent journey — finding peace and encouragement, amidst the clutter of the Advent/Christmas season. We wanted a design that is timeless, clean, hopeful and intimate. Like the message of Jesus — this simple, two-color cover breaks through the clutter and cuts through the noise of the Christmas season. We added some interest with a de-bossed, ornate pattern & gold foiled typography set in a clean serif. The pages have gold gilding for added contrast with the all-white cover. The interior design leaves much white space to allow the pages to breathe and uses various patterns to bring interest as you read through the advent journey.

Judge Comments

As an advent book, this one is stripped of any cliché or expected Christmas imagery and instead takes advantage of an intricate embossed 6-sided geometric pattern—presumably representing a flurry of snowflakes. The mood of the cover is tranquil and reflective, indicative of the season itself.
